HAZ-ADVICE

Whenever dangerous goods are involved it's mandatory to train your staff and have a certified dangerous goods safety adviser(s). (DGSA - Dangerous Goods Safety Advisors).

(UPDATE) 

• Undertakings which participate in the carriage of dangerous goods only as consignors and which did not have to appoint a safety adviser on the basis of the provisions applicable until 31 December 2018 shall, by derogation from the provisions of 1.8.3.1 applicable from 1 January 2019, appoint a safety adviser no later than 31 December 2022. 

• Persons employed by the participants referred to in Chapter 1.4 [involved in the dangerous goods process] whose duties concern the carriage of  dangerous goods, shall be trained in the requirements governing the carriage of such goods  appropriate to their responsibilities and duties. (ADR, RID, ADN, IMDG - par. 1.3.1)

• Each undertaking, the activities of which include the carriage, or the related packing, loading, filling or unloading, of dangerous goods by road, inland waterways and rail shall appoint one or more safety advisers for the carriage of dangerous goods, responsible for helping to prevent the risk inherent in such activities with regard to persons, property and the environment.
